What is Email Defense
Email Defense (also known as SpamExperts) is a powerful email security solution that helps strengthen email protection. The software is based on self-learning technology, which provides continuously updated spam and malware protection. It collects and analyzes data from over 2.5 million active domains daily to provide timely protection against new threats.
Email Defense provides inbound email filtering and archiving solutions, driven by a continuously updated Intelligent Protection & Filtering Engine to meet emerging threats providing an extra layer of security for your small business email communications, protecting against spam, phishing, and malware attacks.
How does Email Defense work
Email Defense works as a middle man for any mail send to your domain. Where normally any mail sent to your domain would be delivered to your mail server directly, when using Email Defense, the mail will first be sent to the Email Defense server, where it is scanned for spam, viruses, phishing attempts or other potential issues before it is forwarded to your mail server.
Email Defense is a learning software that is constantly being updated with new threats and trends to keep your mailbox spam free. Because of its learning nature, the more you interact with the Email Defense service, the better it will work for you.
When Email Defense finds an email message that it knows it is spam, it will block it from being forwarded to your mail server. However, if it finds emails that it is not certain about, it will quarantine them. You can log into your Email Defense control portal and sort through your quarantine and decide if the messages it caught were legit emails. The more you do this, the better your Email Defense filter with work for you.
How do I purchase Email Defense
If you would like to purchase Email Defense for your domain, you can do so from your MacHighway client area. If you do not know how to access your client area, you can find out here.
Once logged into your client area, you can follow a few different paths to purchase new services
You can click on "Order New Services" in the Shortcuts menu in the lower left-hand side.
Access your My Services page, either by clicking on Services in the upper menu bar, or the Services block on the homepage, and then clicking on Place New Order in the Actions menu
You will now be on the Store page.
On the left hand side of your screen, you will see the Categories menu. Click on SpamExperts to view the Email Defense options. Click on the Order Now button to proceed.
You will now be able to select the term for your service (monthly or annual). You will need to provide the domain name that you wish to protect with Email Defense. This domain does not need to be hosted with MacHighway. However, you will need to update your domain DNS records manually in this case.
Once you have selected your term and entered your domain name, click on Continue to proceed with checkout.
How do I use Email Defense
Once you purchase your Email Defense service, you should receive an email with your credentials for the Email Defense dashboard. If you do not receive this email within 24 hours, please [contact support](#submit a ticket) using any of the methods mentioned below.
