As a security measure, domains can be locked against being transferred. This help protects you from domain theft. However, before you can transfer your domain name that is registered with MacHighway to another registrar, you first need to unlock it.
Unlocking your Domain
To unlock the domain, you first will need to log into your MacHighway client area. If you do not know how to access your client area, you can find out here.
Once logged in, click on Domains in the upper menu bar and then select My Domains from the drop down menu. Or, you can click on the Domains block in the center of the home page.
You should see a list of all your domains. Click on the bar for the domain that you are looking to unlock (click anywhere on the bar other than the domain name, this will take you to your website). Or, you can click on the drop down menu to the right, beside the Wrench icon and select Manage Domain.
Now, you should be on the Manage page for that domain. On the left-hand side of the screen, you will see the Manage Menu. Click on Register Lock. Here you will be able to unlock the domain be clicking the Disable Registrar Lock button.
Your domain is now unlocked and able to be transferred.
Disabling ID Protection
If you have ID Protection enabled on your domain, you will need to disable it before you attempt to transfer your domain. While there is a chance that the transfer will not be affected, it is best to disable it to be certain. You can disable the ID Protection in the Addon section of your My Domains page.
If you do not have ID Protection purchased, you will see the option here to purchase it. If you do have ID protection, you will see the status of the service here. Click the Disable button to disable ID Protection.
