Here is a guide on how to transfer your domain

Sections

Before Transferring your domain

If you have a domain registered with someone else, you can transfer the domain to be managed by us. While this is not necessary, it can be advantageous to have all your services in one place.

Unlock the domain

First you will need to unlock your domain and ensure that is ready to be transferred. If you have any domain privacy on the domain, ensure it is disabled as well.

Get your EPP code

Your EPP code (or transfer authorization code) is required to move the domain from your current registrar to us. You will need to request this from the current registrar.

Transferring your domain to MacHighway

If you domain is available for transfer and you have your EPP code, you can now submit the transfer request from your MacHighway client area. If you do not know how to access your client area, you can find out here.

Client Area Home Page

There are two ways to access the Transfer In section of the client area:

  1. In the upper Menu Bar, click on Domains and then select Transfer Domains to Us
  2. Click on the Domains block in the center of the page. This will take you to your My Domains page. On this page, you will see the Transfer In A Domain link in the Shortcuts menu in the lower left-hand side.

Transfer Domains to Us

On this page, supply your domain name and the EPP code provided by your current registrar. Click on the Add to Cart button to proceed.

Domain Configuration

You will now be able to configure your domain name servers or add additional services, such as web hosting. Once you are ready, click on Continue at the bottom of the page.

You can now review the order and Checkout once you are satisfied everything is entered correctly.

Once you process the invoice, the transfer will be initiated. Please watch your mailbox for the verification emails to complete the transfer.

Note: Domain transfers can take 5-10 business days to complete. This is ICANN policy and can not be bypassed.

Transfer Charge

When you transfer a domain to MacHighway, there will be a charge for a one year renewal fee. However, your domain expiry will be extended by one year as well, so there are no additional fees for transferring the domain in the long run.

This is standard procedure for most domain registrars.

Leaving your domain with another registrar

If you wish to keep your domain name registered where it is now, you can still use our services by simply changing your domain's name servers (much easier and faster than transferring). Our name servers are as follows:

ns1.machighway.com
ns2.machighway.com

Your current registrar should be contacted if you need help with updating your domain name servers.
