There are 2 main control panels with your MacHighway Webhosting services, each with their own unique login credentials. This article is for retrieving your cPanel login details, which allows you to manage your hosting account.

Forgotten Password

If you have forgotten your cPanel credentials, there are a few methods to retrieve them. If you have forgotten your username and password for your MacHighway client area, please click here.

MacHighway client area

You can reset your cPanel password directly from your MacHighway client area. If you do not know how to access your client area, you can find out here.

You can also access your cPanel directly from your MacHighway client area, no password needed. If you forgot your cPanel username, you will need to access your cPanel using this method to retrieve it.

Client Area Home Page

Once logged in, you need to proceed to your cPanel management page. You can do this in one of several ways:

  1. Choose My Services from the Services drop down menu, at the top of the page.
  2. Click on the Services block in the center of the page.
  3. Click on the Web hosting service in the Your Active Products/Services section. This will take you directly to the cPanel Management page

My Services

If you choose option 1 or 2 you will now be at your My Services page. Find your cPanel web hosting service and click on the active button. This will bring you to the cPanel Management page.

If you choose option 3, you will already be there.

cPanel Management page

On this page, you will see information on your cPanel web hosting service. To the left, you will see a menu called Actions. In this menu, you will see the option to reset your cPanel password.

Actions

Enter your new password twice and click save to update your cPanel password. You do not need the old password here.

cPanel password reset

You can request a password reset from your cPanel login page as well. However, this method requires that you have access to the email on the cPanel contacts. This email is set to the same email as your client area when it was set up, but does not update automatically after that. You can update this email address from within cPanel, and it is recommended that you keep it up to date.

If you do not know how to access your cPanel directly, you can find out here.

cPanel login

On the log in page, there is an link stating Reset Password. After clicking this button, you will be asked to enter your cPanel username. If you do not know your cPanel username, you can contact support and we can let you know, but it would be quicker to access your MacHighway client area and log into your cPanel from there.

If you used the Reset Password link and did not receive the email, either your email address in cPanel is incorrect, or the email got filtered out, possible flagged as spam. In either case, it is best to use the above method to reset your password.

Your cPanel username

By default, your cPanel username is set to the first 8 characters of your domain name. While this will not always be the case, it is worth trying it.

You can find your cPanel username from within your cPanel. You can access your cPanel from your MacHighway client area using the guide above.

cPanel home page

It will be in the right-hand sidebar under the General Information section.
